Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Worker to join our Social Care team. As a Family Worker, you will provide support and guidance to patients and their families during their hospital stay, ensuring they receive the necessary resources to navigate through medical and emotional challenges. Your role will be crucial in fostering a sense of comfort and stability for families during difficult times.
Responsibilities
Offer emotional support and counseling to patients and their families throughout their hospital stay
Coordinate and facilitate family meetings to discuss care plans and progress
Collaborate with medical staff to ensure patient needs are met and implemented into the family support plan
Educate families on medical procedures, treatment options, and available resources
Assist families in navigating the healthcare system and accessing community resources
Advocate for patients and families to ensure their rights and preferences are respected
Maintain accurate records of all interactions and progress made with families
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
Proven experience in counseling or providing support services to families in a healthcare setting
Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to hospital care
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and patience
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Proactive problem-solving abilities
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:30
Pay Per Hour: £14.00
