Summary


The vision of the Team is to make every general practice in Staffordshire and Shropshire outstanding. By working directly with GP practices, we support them to identify, plan, realise and review improvements, while developing skills within practices to manage future change.  

The post holder will join an established multi-disciplinary Team, which provides a blend of clinical, management and operational expertise to practices. The post holder will support the efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of our team. 

The Team will support those practices in all situations, whether performing well or facing challenges, but which have a desire to improve. 

Responsibilities will be providing administration and practical support to the Team but may be varied and flexible and may depend on the support required by the practice we are working with at the time. A collaborative approach is essential.


• Work autonomously, prioritise own workload, and act on own initiative to agreed deadlines.  
• Communicate to a high standard and have excellent organisation skills.  
• Utilise Microsoft office programmes.
• Data interpretation/analytical processes. 
• Fact finding research and compilation of information about specified topics as required. 
• Organise Team workload:

o Maintain an electronic diary and arrange/confirm team appointments and meetings

o Making appropriate arrangements for visits to practices

o Manage MS Teams folders

o Preparation of agendas, producing minutes and updating team action plans 

o General administration for the Team.
• Interview practice staff as required in line with team procedures.
• Actively contribute to development and editing of the practice scoping visit report.
• Provide verbal feedback to the practices.
• Lead and facilitate staff development sessions in practices as required.
• Undertake any other duties within the remit of the role. 
• Maintain professional relationships with work colleagues and to develop relationships with relevant members of the GP Practices, ICB and external organisations. 
• Work throughout both the Shropshire and Staffordshire areas as required (own transport essential).  
• Respect confidentiality for any work undertaken and use own initiative and work within deadlines, with minimum supervision, while maintaining a flexible approach.

The Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB)is responsible for planning functions; managing the NHS budget and arranging the provision of health services in the geographical area.

Location Home based/hybrid working (most of posts).

Travel on occasions to a Hub location with at least 1 days notice

New starters are expected to collect IT equipment, from offices in Stoke-on-Trent, and if based at home are required to have appropriate desk/chair/ relevant equipment in compliance with DSE regulations

The post holder will be required to analyse and interpret information, pre-empt and evaluate issues, and recommend and appropriate course of action to address the issues. Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands will also be required.

Visits to the practice and building relationships with all stakeholders is vital to the running of the team. A collaborative approach is essential.
