Summary
The post is full time based at the Lister Hospital, but the post holder will be expected to attend QE2 and HCH for clinics and bronchoscopy. When Respiratory of Week (ROW), the consultant is entirely ward based with other clinical duties cancelled. There will be a daily consultant review of the respiratory ward seven days a week which will include the RSU at weekends. During the weekdays, the ROW is purely ward base but at the weekend will support ACT seeing respiratory patients as required. During the weekend, the consultant will have the support of the respiratory nurse specialist for ACT and a trainee from the team for the ward. The objectives are: To provide specialist respiratory advice to acutely unwell respiratory patients To facilitate early discharge or prevent admission of respiratory patients where appropriate To ensure respiratory patients benefit from specialist input when managed on an outlying ward. Daily ward round of 11A and the RSU
