A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Practice Development Midwife (PDM) to join our dynamic team at UHBW. We are looking for an enthusiastic, evidence based clinical Midwife with significant Band 6 Midwifery experience.

The post holder will support the Lead Midwife for Education and Training. This will involve designing, implementing, and evaluating education and training for the Multidisciplinary team (MDT) to improve clinical practice and meet local and national education and training drivers.

We are proud to be a well-established tertiary unit with an outstanding inhouse practice development team who work alongside the Lead Midwife for Education and Training to support staff and deliver high quality education and training in line with the Core Competency Framework 2. We are also delighted to have a Diversity Inclusion Specialist Midwife who leads and supports on initiative and education to promote equality, diversity and human rights.

St Michael’s Hospital is in the centre of Bristol which is a beautiful city bursting with character providing the perfect work-life balance.

- Participate in the development and delivery of competencies and training; and demonstrate compliance with local and national drivers.

- Plan, implement, deliver and evaluate training to meet Core Competency Framework 2.

- Participate in the development of guidelines and policies relating to midwifery practice and subsequent audits as appropriate.

- Ensure relevant information is disseminated to staff within appropriate time scales, including the MDT if required.

- Provide support to all team members.

- Support delivery of onboarding new starters and provide efficient and effective inductions.

- Collaborate with external organisations to share best practice.

- Deputise for the Lead Midwife for Education and Training.
