Your new company


As a Homelessness Support Worker, you will provide day-to-day support to vulnerable adults and individuals from diverse backgrounds. Your role will involve assisting service users with independent living, improving their skills, resilience, and pathways to independence.

This role is working with Hays Recruitment on a temporary basis as either Bank Staff or in Long Term Placements with our established clients across Leicester. Ideal for those looking for flexibility around their current schedule or an additional form of income.

Your new role

  • Assessing Clients' Needs: Evaluate the needs of service users, considering their unique circumstances and challenges related to homelessness.
  • Support Planning: Develop outcome-based support plans and risk management strategies for clients, promoting independence and progression.
  • Client Advocacy: Act as an advocate for clients, liaising with external agencies and ensuring they receive appropriate benefits and services.
  • Practical Assistance: Assist clients with paperwork (such as housing applications), practical skills (like cooking and budgeting), and personal care.
  • Information Collation: Provide information on housing vacancies and housing rights.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 6 months relevant experience in the UK: Experience working in housing support or related fields such as social care.
  • UK Driving Licence: As this is a Floating Support Role, you must have a full UK driving licence.
  • Flexibility: Able to work a minimum of 30 hours a week, whether day or waking nights.
