Summary

Graduate Teaching Assistant

Have you recently finished university and have not found the job that gives you your next step on the career ladder?

Have you ever thought about teaching and are not sure how to get the experience you need?

Would you want to work in a rewarding environment and become a role model to young people who may need extra support?

If so, our partner Secondary School in North Cardiff are looking for a graduate like you.

The role would be working with children between the ages 11-16 either in small groups or on 1:1 basis. The pupils struggle with their concentration and behaviour and often lack a role model who can keep them on track.

It would begin after the May half term break on a temporary contract up until the summer but with great potential to continue in September for the next academic year (if you decide not to go on to Teacher training straight away.)

*This is a perfect opportunity for any graduates looking to start a PGCE in 2024/5 to gain classroom based experience*
- Full time Teaching Assistant position starting after May half term break
- Large Cardiff Secondary School with outstanding provisions for teaching and learning
- Attractive pay rates up to £83 per day
- Continuous feedback for personal development

The schools Headteacher has asked that the teaching assistant is ideally degree educated and has a confident can-do attitude. They want someone who isn't afraid of a challenge and wants to make a real difference to a pupil's life. No teaching qualification is needed.
