Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable individual to provide technical assistance and general support within our Creatives department.
This is a varied role with good opportunity for professional development. Alongside a range of technical duties there will be opportunities to work alongside students in support of their practical work.
The technical support will be primarily for the Creatives department, which offers:
• Fine Art A level
• Graphic Communication A level
• Textiles A Level
• Fashion Extended Diploma
• Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media
A good understanding of safe working practices within an Art department environment is essential and a relevant qualification, or equivalent training, related to at least one of the following disciplines; fine art painting, graphics, textiles, basic woodwork is desirable.
This can be a physically demanding role, especially in the lead up to art exhibitions and you will need to be able and willing to lift and move display boards and equipment, safely.
The contract will be for 37 hours per week on a fixed term basis for 12 months, working term-time only and commencing as soon as the successful candidate is available following safeguarding checks.
Alternative patterns of work may be considered, provided the needs of the role are met. Flexibility in working times may, in any case, be required on occasions.
