Summary


We are looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about helping young people and their families, interested in leading clinical developments with the team and service, supervising staff and supporting the matron, HoS, AD to maintain and develop the highest standards of care and therapeutic support for the young people and their families who access our service within tier 4 (KMAH) and the community intensive home treatment team.



The role of Clinical Lead is to support the development and implementation of a range of group, individual and consultation interventions within the NICE guidance. This includes strategic and clinical leadership activities, such as working proactively with partners and provider collaboratives to ensure a joined-up approach to providing help and support to CYP presenting in crisis requiring inpatient and intensive support. It also includes the provision of supervision, consultation, training and joint working within the service to spread best practice and develop the clinical offer. You will have experience of supervising and managing others, you would also have a keen interest in developing innovative strategies to support young people and their families.

As well as holding a reduced case load, the Clinical Lead supports the wider MDT across KMAH and IHT to deliver therapeutic interventions and develop clinical competencies through supervision, teaching, and mentoring. Knowledge and experience of delivering interventions within child mental health is essential. Additional therapeutic skills and training such as CBT, SFBT, Family / Systemic, DBT and other therapeutic approaches is desirable.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
