Summary

Adult Social Care Lawyer

POSITION OFFERED
An adult's lawyer to join Lambeth’s Adult Social Care Team, available with one month’s notice ideally. The lawyer must be extensively experienced in COP work, OR and mental health, and ideally, although not essential, be able to advise on some Children Act work (not care proceedings). Highly likely to be a long-term placement beyond 3 months and rolling, advertised rate can be negotiable upwards for exceptional candidates.

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Adult Social Care Lawyer to join our legal team. As an Adult Social Care Lawyer, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and representation to clients in the field of adult social care. As an Adult Social Care Lawyer, you will be responsible for handling complex legal matters related to adult social care. This will involve advising clients on their rights and entitlements, representing them in court proceedings, and advocating for their best interests. You will also be involved in drafting legal documents, providing legal opinions, and facilitating the resolution of disputes through negotiation or alternative dispute resolution methods.

Responsibilities
Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients in the field of adult social care
Advise clients on their rights and entitlements under relevant legislation and regulations
Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and tribunals
Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and agreements
Conduct legal research to support client cases and ensure compliance with relevant laws
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, healthcare professionals, and advocacy groups
Negotiate settlements and facilitate the resolution of disputes through alternative dispute resolution methods
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in law or a related field
Admission to the bar and a valid license to practice law
Proven experience working as a lawyer in adult social care or a related practice area
In-depth knowledge of adult social care legislation, regulations, and policies
Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and negotiation abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
