Summary

Senior Learning Support Practitioners
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: Scale 5 (£23,735.92 - £26,066.56 FTE)
Permanent contract: Term time only (38 weeks – pro rata £20,906.68 - £22,067.28) Salary includes 4% increase which will be effective from 1st August 2024Are you passionate about ensuring high quality support for EHCP learners throughout their learner journey at Coventry College?
Do you have experience completing initial assessments, support plans and termly reviews of EHCP learners?
Can you track, monitor and review students EHCPs and ensure that their support needs are met and outcomes achieved, including their wider social skills and independence.
If so, we have exciting opportunities for Senior Learning Support Practitioners to join our ALS team, part of our wide-ranging Learner Services team.
In this pivotal role you will to act as a mentor for the wider team of LSPs, sharing best practice and completing observations. In the role you will work closely with the ALS Co-ordinators to develop and review support plans for learners that are aspirational and personalised. You will also support with the running of high needs interventions such as the Preparation for Adulthood and Social Skills programmes.
To be successful in this role you will need to be an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills and have relevant experience within this field.
You will also need to have the following qualification:
• Minimum Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy, or equivalent
• Relevant Level 3 qualification or above
• A HTLA Qualification
• Experience of working with people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, or other support needs
• The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check
