Summary

Independent Reviewing Officer

Description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Independent Reviewing Officer to join our team. As an Independent Reviewing Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring the quality and effectiveness of the care provided to children and young people in our organization. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that the best interests of the children and young people are met and the highest standards of care are maintained.

Responsibilities
Conducting comprehensive and timely reviews of children and young people's care plans, ensuring that they are robust and person-centered
Monitoring and evaluating the progress and outcomes of the care plans, making recommendations for necessary adjustments
Participating in meetings and conferences, liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Providing support and guidance to social workers regarding the welfare and needs of children and young people
Ensuring that all safeguarding procedures are followed and risks are identified and managed appropriately
Identifying and addressing any gaps or deficiencies in practice, recommending and implementing improvements
Acting as the designated safeguarding lead, taking appropriate action in cases of concern or emergencies
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in child protection services, social work, or a related field
Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures within child protection and care
Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound judgments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with professionals and families
Ability to work independently and manage a diverse workload, prioritizing tasks effectively
Proficiency in using relevant IT systems and software to record and retrieve information accurately and efficiently
