Summary
The Flower Factory is a unique, seasonally inspired floral studio and floristry school located in the heart of Shoreditch, East London. We are seeking a professional, reliable studio manager.
Responsibilities:
Overseeing and managing a small team of florists including appointing staff, assigning tasks and monitoring and reviewing staff performance
Delivering a range of training courses to aspiring florists and preparing lesson plans and developing new course ideas
Ordering of course materials within budget
Preparation of vases, materials, and equipment for courses
Conditioning and preparation of flowers
Responsibility for monthly staff rotas
Ensuring that adequate reserves of merchandise are held and that stock keeping is carried out efficiently
Ensuring customer complaints and queries regarding sales and service are appropriately handled in a timely and professional manner
Skills/experience/qualifications required:
Previous experience of teaching Ikebana in Japan and London as a Kokedama teacher
A proven ability to prepare and manage budgets
Advanced knowledge of flower varieties and floristry techniques and Excellent knowledge of the flower industry
Proficiency in Japanese and English for business use
Must be an Ikebana master( Japanese flower arrangement diploma)
Excellent communication, timekeeping, organisational skills and attention to detail
Calm, considerate & empathetic – a firm yet kind management style
Able to work independently and enjoy working in the studio
A team player who is able to work well in a fast-paced environment to tight deadlines, manage multiple clients and meet targets
