Summary


RCHT is currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Radiographer keen to develop their clinical and professional skills at West Cornwall Hospital

This site currently supports the Minor Injury Unit 7 days per week as well as outpatient clinics and GP activity.

The RCHT imaging department provides clinical placements for student Radiographers & Radiographer apprentices from Exeter & Plymouth Universities and is a training site for Radiologists. We also have Assistant Practitioners, Advanced Practitioners (including Reporting Radiographers), and Consultant Radiographers in post and are committed to developing the knowledge and skills of our radiographic workforce.

You will be a valuable member of the team in the provision of a quality led and timely Imaging service. We actively support and encourage Radiographers in their career development and are committed to providing increased opportunities to widen specialist skills, extend roles and deliver advanced practice.

There is an active CPD and audit calendar within the department with involvement from all staff groups.

The diagnostic Imaging department continues to maintain accreditation through the Quality Standards for Imaging (QSI) and has been inspected and rated by the Care Quality Commission as ‘Outstanding’, - the highest possible rating.

This is a full time post 37.5hrs per week and currently provides an 0800-2000 service with support from rotational staff from the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.

Perform a wide range of clinical imaging examinations, based at Bodmin CDC but with rotation across sites within Clinical Imaging, as well as in Theatres, Wards and Accident and Emergency.

To work as part of a team providing a 24 hour, 7 day radiographic service for the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, including a commitment to the ‘on-call’ service.

The Practitioner will comply with the Ionising Radiation Regulation (IRR 17), Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) regulation (IR(ME)R 2017) and the Trust Radiation Safety Policy.

Justify radiology referrals (within scope of practice) using referral criteria which falls within the Royal College of Radiologists Guidelines and the Clinical Imaging Protocol Manual.

To occasionally deputise for the Shift Leader in their absence or when required.

To work with the Radiography Team to continually improve the Clinical Imaging Service.

To work closely with colleagues within a multidisciplinary team
