Summary


A fantastic opportunity has arisen for 2 Cardiothoracic Specialist Nurses in cardiothoracic surgery in the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre.

The job role covers both cardiac and thoracic elective and inpatient surgery.

We are looking for nurses with non medical prescribing and clinical skills assessments qualifications. However if you do not have the necessary qualifications band 6 will be considered with a view to career progression on successful completion of the courses.

Successful applicants will need to have at least 2 years cardiothoracic experience as a minimum.

As the Nurse specialist, you will be responsible, under the supervision of the clinical team, for the day to day care and management of patients undergoing cardiac surgery both pre and post operatively.

You will also contribute significantly to the reduction of the length of patient stay providing expert skills and knowledge to aid the safe and effective discharge of patient's who have undergone cardiac surgery.

Your role will involve assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients who have undergone or are due to undergo cardiac surgery and the day to day management including the weekends giving advice and care to aid the successful recovery and discharge of patients.

As a Specialist Nurse you will be an experienced and highly educated Registered Nurse who manages the clinical care for their patient, not solely any specific condition and should be educated to or working towards Masters Level in their specialty and are assessed as competent in this level of practice.

You will support to the clinical teams giving expert advice.

There may be some weekend working required.
