Summary


As a Research Assistant, you will work under the supervision of the site Team Lead to support research nurses and trials staff in the daily administration of research studies. Your responsibilities will include facilitating patient recruitment for clinical trials, providing screening, and assisting with delegated aspects of individual patient care. Additionally, you will manage the ordering of clinical and office supplies and may provide administrative support to senior research office staff as needed.

• Liaise effectively with healthcare professionals of all levels to ensure efficient communication and data handling from diverse internal and external sources.
• Conduct telephone follow-up activities, ensuring accurate transcription of data.
• Provide administrative support for senior research office staff when necessary.
• Screen potential participants for research studies, assessing eligibility against inclusion and exclusion criteria.
• Conduct follow-up activities for participants as directed by the Research Nurse or Trial Practitioner.
• Perform various clinical support functions, including preparing and organizing documentation and equipment for study visits and clinic appointments.
• Coordinate follow-up visits and investigations as per trial protocols.
• Manage data collection and input for individual trials, ensuring timely forwarding of research study data.
• Maintain adequate stock levels by ordering office and study supplies.

• Proficiently use Microsoft applications, the research database system (EDGE), and other web-based applications.
• Maintain up-to-date site files and ensure documents are filed according to requirements.
• Stay informed about research-related topics, regulations, and guidelines.
• Possess standard keyboard skills with high accuracy, as well as proficient Microsoft and EDGE skills.
• Engage in frequent sitting with light to moderate lifting and occasional periods of concentration.
• Demonstrate emotional sensitivity when dealing with patients and various stakeholders.
