Summary


Clinical Fellow in Hepatology, Royal London Hospital

Applications are invited for a Clinical fellow (ST3 Level) in Hepatology to be based at the Royal London Hospital for a one year fixed term post. This post will start from 1stAugust 2024and end on 31stJuly 2025. We are looking for a pro active, enthusiastic trainee who has completed their core medical training and wishing to pursue a career in Gastroenetrology and Hepatology. This post will provide ample opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of Hepatology ( inpatient, outpatient and research) in a Level 2 Hepatology unit in a large teaching hospital in East London. Candidates will be encouraged to undergo training in endoscopy, involve themselves in Quality Improvement projects and enhance their management skills by co-ordinating the paracentesis clinic. There are no on call commitments in this post.

The post holder will have a cohort of patients living with liver-related diseases across different centres at Barts NHS Trust. In conjunction with the wider MDT, they will monitor and treat a wide variety of patients living with liver-related diseases. This includes regular monitoring and prescribing the most effective treatment. Compelx cases will be discussed in the weekly MDT and advice given on management. There is also a role for seeing pateints who are newly diagnosed and starting treatment, if appropriate. Training will be given but applicants should have a solid understanding of monitoring and treating patients living with liver-related diseases.
