Summary


The Strategic Research Partnerships Hub (SRPH), based at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus is a new service that connects researchers, innovators, industry, clinicians and academics to R&D pathways locally and nationally. Offering expertise in funding, networking, collaborations, strategy, commercialisation and delivery of research.

The Research Adviser will play a crucial role in driving innovation and advancing the Hub’s strategic objectives through supporting innovators to secure national research funding and to work with the team to strengthen and grow a network of partners. Principally assigned to:
• Support local innovation in medical devices and digital health technology research.
• Coaching researchers to navigate the complexities of the research environment
• Provide expertise for a range of funding opportunities
• Build a network of partners, both locally and nationally.

They will require a strong background in research funding, grant application processes, excellent project management skills, expert knowledge of the innovation landscape with a proven track record of successfully securing funding for innovation projects.

Provide expert advice/support to NHS, SME, and clinical academic researchers who are based at, or collaborate with, Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH) NHS FT, and partner organisations, who are developing innovative health technologies and plan to develop research funding applications. Advice will cover:

· All aspects of research design

· Sources of, and application procedures for, research funding

· Public involvement

· Knowledge of major national funding programmes

Help researchers to navigate the complexities of the research funding environment.

Support researchers to prepare for interview/presentations as part of the application process, where required.

Take a lead role in strengthening and growing Med Tech and Innovation networks and forge new relationships in both the East of England, and nationally.

Become a Subject Matter Expert for Innovation funding for health and social care research and be agile to new and emerging funding opportunities.
