Summary


Part time - up to 18 hours per week worked between monday to saturday. You will be required to work saturday morning shifts on rotation as part of a team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional candidate looking to join a talented and committed team within our Swindon Integrated Sexual Health Department (SWISH) as a Sexual Health Advisor.



You will be flexible in your approach when supporting patients with diverse and complex health requirements. You will nurture a non-judgmental culture and have a friendly and approachable attitude when dealing with sexual health patients.

We are seeking a candidate who thrives in a team setting and can demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, good sexual health knowledge and a strong awareness of associated issues. Previous experience of Health Advising or nursing within sexual health would be an advantage to your application however this is not essential.

The role is based at Swindon Health Centre but working across sites may be required.

• To be aware of the confidential nature of the clinic and work within the legal responsibilities as laid down in the Venereal Diseases Regulations (1916, 1974) and the NHS Trusts and Primary Care Trusts (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) Directions 2000
• To work within frameworks of good practice according to national organisations (i.e. BASHH and SSHA)
• To utilise opportunities to participate in formal and informal teaching
• To work within and contribute to service operational procedures developed by SWISH
• To work effectively within the multidisciplinary team to facilitate the best care for patients
• To establish and maintain good working relationships with professionals from other departments to enable partner notification and effective referral pathways
