Summary
We currently have a 12 month secondment opportunity for anyone interested in working in an Early Intervention in Psychosis Service that has a reputation for providing an excellent service to patients and of being a supportive environment where team members are able to develop professionally and expand their skill set.
EQUIP offers a community service to adult residents of Hackney and the City following a first episode of psychosis. The team work closely with the early detection team, HEADS UP, which provides support to those who are at risk of developing psychosis. The team works with diagnostic uncertainty and focuses on addressing the associated distress and impact on social functioning. The purpose is to minimise the risk of future breakdowns and maximise the quality of life for the individual by working in active partnership with service users and carers.

The role would suit an experienced nurse who will coordinate care and provide interventions to patients and their families. The post holder will manage a caseload of patients recovering from a first episode psychosis as well as rotate onto a duty system. The team work to NICE guidelines and within relevant legislation and policy. The post holder will work closely with other MDT members and be expected to develop their social, biological and psychological understandings of psychosis by attending in-house CPD/group supervisions and co-working with families. Knowledge and experience of applying the Care Act would be an advantage.. This is a good opportunity for anyone interested in working with a supportive, specialist team.
