Summary


We are looking to appoint enthusiastic and hard-working Deputy ward manager in a substantive post to work with the multi-disciplinary team on Ward 3, which is an acute admissions ward in the Acute and Urgent Care Service line.

Ward 3 is busy, highly functioning 18 bedded mixed gender acute admissions ward located on the Springfield Hospital site. We are looking for a Deputy Ward Manager to join our well-established team within the Mental Health Acute Care Service line.

The successful candidate is expected to work with the ward team and the service line in providing high quality nursing care and leadership. He/she will be a highly skilled and well-motivated individual with considerable experience of working in a dynamic acute mental health service.

The post holder will be responsible for implementing and monitoring all policies and ensuring that the ward functions in line with the Trust and service line philosophy of providing respectful compassionate care that is of the highest quality. The post holder will also ensure that supervision and appraisal systems are robustly implemented. That the care plans are regularly reviewed in collaboration with patients and carers provided in line with the service’s clinical governance framework. The Deputy Ward Manager is expected to work closely with the Ward Manager who is ultimately responsible for providing a safe environment within which all staff can deliver care and support to patients and their significant others. He/she must ensure effective deployment of resources within agreed budgets.

About our locations:

Springfield University Hospital, Tooting

Our largest, 19-ward site is in Springfield Village, created following our £150m investment into two new world class mental health facilities. A 32-acre public park, shops and cafes are coming soon. Close to shops, cafes and Tooting Bec on the Northern Line plus Earlsfield and Tooting rail stations and bus routes.
