Summary

My clients Founded in 1998, they pride themselves on supplying and supporting high quality products providing maximum return on investment and peace of mind from our service department. Supplying ride on and walk behind power trowels, Compaction plates and compaction rammers, concrete flatwork tools, the world-renowned Magic Screed and much more.

We are looking for a skilled Purchasing Agent to buy goods and services necessary for our business. You have the means and opportunity to raise our profits by making the most high-quality and cost-effective purchases. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commercial mindset. You should know how to evaluate market conditions and different suppliers. Communication skills will help you negotiate effectively and maintain profitable relationships.

The goal is to acquire supplies that are critical for the success of our business operations

Salary: depending on experience

5% salary increase after 6 month probationary period
22 days plus stats. Extra day for every year worked.
Workplace pension scheme
39 hours a week. Mon-Thurs 8/5 and Friday 8/4pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop profitable purchasing strategies.
Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers
Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics
Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance with terms of contracts
Analyze and resolve purchasing issues/discrepancies
Review supplies to ensure quality
Monitor stock levels
Prepare and submit detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures, etc.)
Keep updated records
Report KPI (Key Performance Indicator) data as requested by Purchasing Director to assess, analyze, and track vendor performance
Participate in cost reduction activities, observe, and report price increases
Research a variety of sources, documents, etc. to ensure the adequacy of specification in terms of clarity, precision, and related criteria
Attend events, fairs, and exhibitions to keep abreast of the market’s trends
Build and develop long-term relationships with local suppliers
Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price.

Other Responsibilities
• Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, product development, and customer service to drive overall business success.
• Provide valuable input into product development based on supplier feedback.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and initiatives to enhance teamwork and alignment across the organization.
• This position may require international and domestic travel on a regular basis.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role
• Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions
• Knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices
• Working knowledge of MS Office and purchasing software (e.g. SpendMap)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A strong analytical mindset
• Outstanding organizational skills

Computer Skills:
Proficient in use of MS Office Suite
Comfortable using Windows
Experience with CRM, HubSpot or other
SAP experience preferred
