Summary

Autism Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with autism?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Teaching Assistant to join the team at a reputable client secondary school in Salford starting in September.

As an Autism Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

This position will start from Thursday 5th September, and run full-time until the end of the academic year (July 2025).

Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with autism in the classroom setting.
- Assist the class teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism.
- Support students with social interactions and communication skills development.
- Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the holistic development of students with autism.

Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism is preferred.
- Knowledge of strategies and interventions for supporting students with autism.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and understanding towards students with diverse needs.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education or autism support is desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
