Summary


Applications are invited for a Public Health Consultant in the Midlands Vaccinations and Screening Team. Asa Screening and Immunisations Lead (SIL), thepostholderwillbe a member of the Commissioning Integration (Public Health) Directorate’sLeadership Team and will lead on programmes as well as the development of NHS England’s commissioning arrangements for NHS public health services agreed through Section 7A agreement with the Department of Health.



If medically qualified the individual will be appointed to the point on the consultant salary

scale (2003 contract) forEnglandappropriate to their years of seniority or if from a

background other than medicine to an equivalent Agenda for Change Band 8d.

The specific portfolio for this post will lead the implementation of the National Immunisation Strategy in the East Midlands, leading on immunisation services, including COVID-19 immunisation, across the 5 Integrated Care Boards that constitute the East Midlands, leading on provision of strategic commissioning adviceandsupport. Working in partnership to generate innovative and efficient solutions to increase uptake and access.



The role will work closely with colleagues and key stakeholders from acrossthelocalareaincludingProviders,DirectorsofPublicHealth, and ICB leaders and their teams.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Please note that the National policy position is to delegate Vaccination Services to ICBs from April 2025. As such this post will be (subject to the appropriate engagement) be re-structured to provide 4 distinct teams an East and West Midlands Vaccination Team and an East & West Midlands Screening Team. This post will become part of the East Midlands Vaccination Team, and a new job description will be agreed. It is likely that this post (subject to TUPE consultation) will be transferred to an East Midlands Host ICB, which at present is likely to be Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB
