Summary


To work within the Group Finance Team to provide comprehensive financial advice to Service and Speciality managers to enable the achievement of financial balance and contribute to the business planning process and service developments.

The post holder will be part of a team directly involved in the maintenance of the general ledger and budgetary control system and ensuring compliance with all finance policies and procedures [including the Trust’s Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs)].

1. Support the Finance Manager in the provision of financial and management information to the team.

2. Assist in ensuring accurate monthly financial reports are distributed to managers so that timely and accurate financial information can be incorporated into the decision making process.

3. Maintenance of the system for the control of establishments, ensuring these are up-to-date and accurate, and that establishment and vacancy information is distributed in accordance with key deadlines.

4. Assist with the preparation, completion and input of specific monthly expenditure journals to pay, non pay, income and any other transfers as required, in line with the agreed monthly reporting timetable.

1. Raising of regular, private patients and ad-hoc invoices.

2. Assist the department in achieving Better Payment Policy (BPP) targets by reviewing creditor report and liaising with authorisers, requisitioners and Accounts Payable to resolve any issues on a regular basis.

3. The post holder will participate in self development activities to develop their skills and competencies against identified learning needs.

4.The post holder will work towards achieving AAT qualification via the apprenticeship programme; attend any training events and complete the learning outcomes within the training programme.

5. Shadow team members, attend meetings and undertake learning opportunities.

6. Attend HFMA conferences and workshops and complete the e-learning modules to build a portfolio of evidence for the apprenticeship accreditation.

7. Attend and complete all UHCWi passport modules which underpins our culture and ways of working, embedding the practices and methodologies of UHCWi
