Summary


Applications are invited for a Medical Secretary in the Renal directorate at Barts Health NHS Trust, based at Royal London Hospital.

The post will suit applicants with significant experience as a medical secretary, audio typing, and responding to patient queries.

The role supports the performance of a core function of the Renal unit. Working closely with senior clinicians and members of the administrative team, you will ensure that clinic letters and other important correspondence are accurately recorded, both electronically and in hard copy, directly facilitating patient care, as well as the management of the patient pathway. The post holder will ensure high levels of patient and clinician satisfaction by being an accessible, customer focussed and knowledgeable point of contact.

The post holder will provide clerical and administrative support to the Renal departments at the Royal London Hospital.



Key functions include:



· Undertaking secretarial functions as part of secretarial team and in line with access targets.

· Typing of clinical letters and clinical reports

· Booking appointments

· Ensuring quality of admin services provided to patients and staff

· Resolving problems, escalating wherenecessary

· Taking part in suitable cross coverarrangements

· Supporting the Management team / Clinical lead with some Department meetings.



The post holder will be required to work across the Trust’s multiple sites to ensure cross-cover isprovided.
