Summary




To support the Children in care /Adoption Medical Team in providing a full range of administrative support, to all healthcare clinicians delivering medical assessments on children, and writing reports for adoption panel to include Adult Health reports for prospective adopters. To liaise with social care staff to promote effective communication between the medical team and social care.



To act at all times to assist Children in care /Adoption Medical Team in fulfilling their responsibilities as defined in the document “Promoting the Health and Wellbeing of Children in care” (Department of Health 2009) in order to meet Statutory time scales.



To be flexible within the constantly changing service and be prepared to vary admin support role to meet the needs of the service as required.


• To participate in providing a high quality health service for children who are on care orders, secure accommodation orders or Section 20 of the Children Act 1989.
• To work within a Children in care Medical Team which is closely integrated with the Children in care Nurse team providing a service to Children in care placed in East Sussex by East Sussex County Council and other Local Authorities and to Children in care placed by East Sussex out of county.
• Provide comprehensive administrative support and service to Children in care /Adoption Medical Team. Undertake appropriate administration duties for these health teams including support with SystmOne enquiries, modifications to clinic templates, and ad-hoc training.
• Liaise with Health & Social care regarding recent referrals, consent paperwork or missed appointments where necessary.
• Liaising with Designated Nurse, Nursing Team and other administrators where necessary.
• Distribute medical reports and correspondence on a daily basis.
