Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual who exemplifies excellent customer service. The role is an integral part of the Advice and Wellbeing team located in the Student Success Hub and will introduce an important new layer of service provision. Responsible for much of the ‘explore and reassure’ work of the team, whilst also holding their own caseload, the right candidate will be highly collegiate in their approach and will play an important role in ensuring that the support offer of the team is highly visible, approachable and dynamic.

The role will act as the ‘first line’ for student casework relating to mental health and wellbeing, welfare, difficult personal situations, inter-personal challenges, and any other situation hampering a student’s ability to fully engage with their university experience. Linking up with colleagues across the department and beyond the postholder will work with students to build their confidence, resilience and to ensure they are appropriately supported through whatever challenge they are facing.

We are looking for an experienced mental health and wellbeing professional with experience of collaborative service delivery, and with a good knowledge of mental health and wellbeing in a Higher Education context.

Informal enquiries about this opportunity are very welcome. Please contact Tammy Oyekanmi, at t.oyekanmi@staff.newman.ac.uk, to discuss the role further.
