Summary
The successful candidate is expected to work with the existing consultants and staff to ensure high quality comprehensive specialist orthopaedic care and lead a team to ensure effective treatment for patients in outpatient and inpatient setting. Dedicated regular theatre sessions will be part of the agreed job plan including rotation at the Elective Orthopaedic Centre. The post holder will be expected to actively participate in regular departmental meetings, such as to Business meeting, Mortality and Morbidity, daily trauma meeting. Key working relation relationships The medical staffs in the Department are as follows: Mr Victor Babu Locum Consultant General Orthopaedics Mr Ed Ibrahim Consultant Upper Limb (Service Director) Mr Chris Huber Consultant General Orthopaedics Knee and Hip surgery Mr Arjuna Imbuldeniya Consultant Complex/Revision/Young adult Hip surgery Mr Oliver Chan Consultant Orthopaedics, Foot & Ankle Surgery Mr Hamed Zadeh Consultant Orthopaedics, Upper Limb & Paediatric Orthopaedics Mr Quen Tang Consultant Orthopaedics, Upper Limb Mr Gamal Morgan - associate specialist 8 Senior Middle Grade doctors including 3 Specialty Registrars (North West London Training Scheme) 9 Junior Clinical Fellows including 2 Core Trainees (London Deanery Basic Surgical Training Programme) There is a trauma co-ordinator and trauma nurse practitioner on each site. Each consultant reports professionally and managerially to the Divisional Management team, via their Clinical Service Lead and General Manager. You will be expected to agree annual objectives with your Clinical Service Lead and General Manager to fit with the needs of the service, division and trust. Provide a comprehensive lower limb hip and knee primary arthroplasty outpatient and theatre service, as well as management complex trauma of the lower limb outside the remit of a general trauma surgeon. The appointee will take an active role in the MDT and be responsible for ensuring that peer review standards are attained within the department.
