The role
As a Network Management System Manager you'll manage the Skyview Network Management System supporting the developing of satellite communications services to the UK MOD. The system consists of a high availability SAN currently supporting IBM Tivoli and other network administration tools and this is expected to develop and grow over the coming years. The role will include support of the current system, its extension to new services and network elements, and the implementation of new capability.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for Management of the NMS teams responsible for their performance and development

You'll also be responsible for:

  • Specification, development and implementation of NMS support to new service solutions
  • Evaluation, specification and implementation of new network Management Capability on the system
  • Support to the system in the resolution of faults and performance issues
  • Provision of specialist 24/7 on-call network support on a rotation basis within a team.
  • Support the delivery of the Password Management policy on the service delivering networks.

This role is full time, Monday to Friday 40 hours per week and is based at our Hawthorn site in Wiltshire, with regular travel to other sites.

Essential experience of the Network Management System Manager:

  • Demonstrable experience in Network Management technologies.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Ability to design and build new hardware and software systems.
  • Proficient in use of Linux
  • Ability to take on new products and system to meet developing requirements
  • Good report writing and general communication skills.
  • Proficient use of Active Directory / LDAP

Qualifications for the Network Management System Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering Discipline
  • Knowledge of Pure Storage SAN equipment
  • IT / Engineering Qualification
  • Windows Server
  • Active Directory

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain DV security clearance for this role.
