Summary
TeacherActive are looking for a full time Cover Supervisors to assist with general cover in a mainstream Secondary School in Hereford.
Pay rates between £80-£110 per full day, depending on experience.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be supervising a classroom of around 25-30 students while they complete pre-prepared work when their current teacher is absent. Your main duties will be to take registers and record any absences, keep students on task and make sure work is completed, ensure classroom disruption is kept to a minimum, students are safe, and the classroom is left tidy.
This is a great opportunity for:
• LSA’s / Teaching Assistants who would like to try a cover teaching role
• Graduates wanting to get more hands on, classroom based experience to evidence on their personal statements or job applications
• Someone who has experience working as a Sports Coach or in activity clubs such as Scouts/Girl Guides
• A youth support worker
As a Cover Supervisor, you will require:
• Excellent communication skills
• Have a basic understanding of the National Curriculum
• Over 6 months experience working in an education environment
• The ability to cover a variety of subjects
• Passion for working in education
• Self-motivated
• Confidence to manage a classroom
• Be able to commit to working school hours (8:30-3:30)
