Oakwrights is looking for a talented Maintenance Engineer Supervisor to join our team!

As our Maintenance Engineer Supervisor, you'll lead our maintenance team in ensuring the ongoing performance and reliability of our facilities and machinery.

Your expertise will be crucial in overseeing preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to optimize our operations.

We have been operating and maintaining our Hundegger CNC machinery since 2008 and remain the UK leader in solid wood processing.

We currently have five Hundegger machines installed including (K2 industry/K2I/speedcut ) to carry out 80% of the cutting for each of our projects, this leaves our craftspeople to do the more skilled elements of our customers oak frames and encapsulation panels such as the fitting, finishing, scribe work, decoration and embellishment.

The maintenance and operation of these machines (and many others) is vital to the smooth running of the company.

As our Maintenance Engineer Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

- Supervising and mentoring a team of maintenance engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and cost savings, driving continuous enhancement of our maintenance procedures.

- Ensuring our machinery (CNC / Hundegger / Planer / weinmann) is maintained in line with required standards.

- Monitoring records of all faults, fabrication of parts and safety devices.

- Working as part of the wider team you will interact across departments, including Production to improve our processes and increase output.

- Maintaining schedules and documentation whilst working on projects to upgrade and modify current machinery.

- Supporting the installation of new machinery and work effectively with external contractors as required.

- Testing and inspecting machines and equipment and work with colleagues to eliminate production problems.

- Carrying out routine maintenance checks on all machinery.

- Conducting machine maintenance to the highest standard and report any issues promptly.

- Applying fixes where possible and assist with putting in place preventative maintenance measures.

- Assisting with the upkeep of the engineering workshop, ensuring stock and stock records are maintained correctly.

In order to be successful in this role you must have:

- Previous experience in a similar Maintenance Engineer role, maintaining and servicing similar workshop machines.

- Qualified in Engineering (HNC, Degree or similar).

- A solid foundational knowledge of PLC based control systems and pneumatics.

- Experience of working with CNC Machinery is an advantage.

- Experience in both reactive and planned maintenance on mechanical manufacturing equipment.

- Experience in mentoring and developing junior engineering apprentices or similar is an advantage.

- Experience with a PPM system

- Experience with scheduling systems.
