About me:

I am a 78 year old lady with a diagnosis of Alzheimers and reduced mobility living with my family in Cambridge CB3.I require support with personal care and assistance with accessing social and physical activities.
Hours and Rate of Pay:
22 hours per week @ £14 per hour, rising to £15 per hour following a successful probation period. Days/hours can be discussed and agreed with family. The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata)


What You Would be Doing:
Alzheimers is a progressive illness, therefore the tasks will vary over time. Initially, domestic work is needed (cleaning/ironing/change of bedclothes/cooking), and supervision while the family are out, walks, help with washing, dressing etc. Later, depending on how the illness progresses, more care will be necessary. Establish a close working relationship on a one-to-one basis. Discuss and resolve problems as they arise. Undertake any duties which may be reasonably allocated and fall within the scope and responsibility of the job. Needs may vary on a daily basis, therefore hours, duties and tasks may alter form the care plan. To undertake any training as appropriate for the role.


The Person I Would Like:

This is in accordance with the Equality Act 2010, Part 1, Schedule 9. it would be advantageous if you can speak Hungarian Someone who enjoys being active, who has the skills to give support with building my confidence & self esteem & promoting my independence. Some knowledge and experience with working with people living at home with Alzheimers, either gained from personal or paid experience. You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high-quality care, be able to work flexible hours and be a good communicator and also possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role. In return you will have the opportunity to practice your skills, keep up to date with professional development as training will be provided. Be hardworking, reliable, committed, honest, and trustworthy with cheerful a sense of humour.
