Summary


The role of the Clinical Research Fellow is to work as part of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, nurses and support staff, assisting and delivering a programme of research relating to commercial, NIHR portfolio and non NIHR studies.


To support the clinicians and nurses within the Paediatrics team and children’s clinical research facility in recruiting patients to commercial, NIHR portfolio studies and non-portfolio studies.


The post holder will also be part of the clinical team, providing a clinical service in Paeds A+E, wards, SCBU and OPD.

The duty of the post will be working with the research nurses in a
multidisciplinary team to recruit patients into research projects;


To undertake new research projects under the supervision of consultants.


To support all research work within the Paediatrics team


To ensure that all research is undertaken according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), as well as SOPs and trial specific protocols

Evaluate research study participants’ eligibility for the studies through coordination and interpretation of information obtained from the clinical service.

Record patient data, in accordance with the requirements of the East London Research Ethics Committee


The post-holder must have an awareness and understanding of clinical
governance issues, and will be expected to participate in Clinical Governance activities related to their clinical work.
