The role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Your role will include providing support to the Senior Electrical Engineer(s) and TCA Manager in implementing all non-nuclear safety implicated (Non NSI) Electrical design requests for HMNB Clyde in line with NNSI TCA processes & policy.

Day-to-day, you'll for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining the design intent of all systems to ensure they are safe to operate from a design perspective whilst optimising the client's investment.

  • Conduct Asset Surveying activities across NSI and NNSI equipment/buildings and infrastructure
  • Ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company's cost, time and quality requirements.
  • Implementation of HMNB Clyde's Company Safety, Security, Quality and Environmental policies in the Facility Design section, ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out which lead to safe working attitudes and practices.
  • Support other Naval Base and Depot Organisations (FM's, MOD DIO, NBP etc) with respect to reviewing and approving Design Proposals, Contract Specification Documents to ensure compatibility with Statutory, JSP and Depot Standards.
  • Support Base wide/Depot wide projects in accordance with programme requirements. Directing and controlling design engineers in design process of all conceptual and detailed designs.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and based on at our Clyde sites, near Helensburgh.

Essential experience of the Electrical Design Engineer

  • Extensive electrical background
  • Design experience is desirable but not essential
  • Experience with high voltage systems
  • Operation documentation and engineering drawings

Qualifications for the Electrical Design Engineer

  • * Minimum or HNC in Electrical Engineering
  • * Degree desirable but not essential

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
