Summary

SENDCo Assistant
Grade 4 Point 7 - £24,294 FTE (£19,423 - £20,414) pro rata
Term Time only plus teacher training days (39 weeks)
Permanent
8.30am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Thursday and 8:30 to 4pm on Fridays (with half an hour unpaid break), term time only plus Teacher Training Days
Required to start: September 2024
We have an exciting opportunity for a SENDCo Assistant to join our brilliant school, working alongside our qualified SENDCo. The successful candidate will be someone who is passionate about SEND and improving outcomes for children, organized, resilient and able to use their initiative. They will be confident working independently but will also be able to work effectively as a team. The core focus of this job is to support the SENDCo in leading provision for pupils identified as having Special Educational Needs and Disabilities; including promoting high quality teaching, effective use of resources, and high standards of learning and achievement for all pupils. They will also assume responsibility for a case load of My Support Plan pupils and undertake reviews. The successful candidate will be supported by a fantastic senior leadership team who will invest time to help you in your new role.
Ideally the successful candidates will have:
• Experience of working with children across the primary age range
• Knowledge and understanding of child development.
• A desire to further develop their skills.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• An approachable and resilient attitude
• A passion for supporting children to be the best they can be.
• Motivation to work with children and young people;
• Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people;
• Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours; and
• Attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline.
