Summary


Are you an enthusiastic, motivated individual with an interest in patient care, keen to join an innovative team of Cardiac Physiologists and other Health Care Professionals?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to train as an assistant cardiac practitioner at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust including the community diagnostic centre. There will be one full time post available on a fixed term basis for 2 years. Full training will be given and there will be an opportunity for career progression.

Due to the opening of the Community Diagnostic Centre on Hermitage Lane, Maidstone, additional posts have been created. This will provide an exciting opportunity to be involved in the cutting edge of cardiology and to help shape future cardiac services in Kent.

To apply for this post you will need maths and English GCSE plus a range of other GCSE’s ideally including science (or equivalent to GCSE). You will have some experience with patients/ care work or working with the public. You will be expected to work 7 days per week between the hours of 8am to 8pm (split shifts ).

Successful applicants will be trained to perform non-invasive tests such as ECGs, 24 hour/weekly ECG holter monitoring (fitting and analysis) and 24 hour BP monitoring.

All sites are within 1 hour commute to London. Kent is known as the garden of England, with beautiful historic villages in a rural setting as well as bustling towns.

Our Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs, and it operates from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. It provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 560,000 people living in the south of West Kent and the north of East Sussex.

The Trust offers a range of invasive and non-invasive investigations including Physiologist led exercise stress testing, tilt testing, ambulatory monitory, device follow-up and complex invasive procedures including angiography, PCI, PPM, ICD / CRT implantation and EP. The Tunbridge Wells Hospital site holds BSE Departmental Accreditation in Transthoracic echocardiography, Stress Echo, TOE, Contrast and Bubble Studies. We run a Physiologist Led Valve Clinic at both sites and assist in the Rapid Access Heart Failure Clinic. The Maidstone site is currently in the process of applying for accreditation.
