Summary
The Arden Centre is equipped with five Elekta linacs, SGRT, an orthovoltage treatment machine, Elekta HDR brachytherapy and RayStation treatment planning system. We have a modern portfolio of techniques including a growing SABR service. The Arden Centre is located on the University Hospital site at Walsgrave which is on the edge of historic Coventry with convenient transport to the City and easy access to rural Warwickshire, the M6 and the M69 motorways. Part time and flexible working arrangements including moderate working from home can be accommodated. We are an accredited training department at all levels of medical physics including HSST. Main duties: To lead research and trials activities within radiotherapy physics. To provide highly specialist scientific expertise, clinical technical services and be lead expert for Radiotherapy Physics research. To coordinate and facilitate academic link activity across all of Clinical Physics and Bioengineering. To carry out regular management tasks delegated by the Head of Radiotherapy Physics and Radiotherapy Physics Operational Lead and to deputise in their absence. To act as MPE in all aspects of radiotherapy physics. Also when required by the Radiotherapy Physics Rota, to provide specialist scientific expertise and clinical technical services in all aspects of routine radiotherapy physics. To discuss complex aspects of patient treatment with medical staff, scientists, technologists, radiographers and nurses. To scientifically interpret complex patient treatment related information from medical staff. To initiate and participate in research and development.
