Summary

We are excited to be recruiting into a permanent 0.6 wte Band 7/8a Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist post to support stroke and neurological patients in Trafford Community Stroke and Neuro Rehabilitation Team (CSNRT). Applicants must have completed the first year of the Neuropsychology PGDip to be considered for an 8a position. Funding arrangements are in place for the PGDip and successful completion of the first year allows you to be considered for the 8a position.

Trafford CSNRT is a welcoming, ambitious and enthusiastic team with a wealth of expertise, making it a great place to work. There is a focus on MDT working and goal setting to achieve the best outcomes with the patients and their support systems. We provide assessment and intervention for people who have a broad range of neurological conditions, stroke and acquired brain injuries.

The majority of the role will be working with people who have had a stroke, although there will be opportunity to work across neurological conditions, affording a varied job role. As this provision is new, the post holder will be able to shape the service. You need to work autonomously and organise your workload, take initiative and cope with competing demands. You will be well-supported to do this by Clinical Neuropsychologists within the Trust and senior practitioners in the team.

You would be joining a Neuropsychology team in Trafford that consists of a Clinical Neuropsychologist and a Senior Assistant Psychologist.

To provide clinical psychology/neuropsychologically-informed assessments, formulations, and interventions for persons referred to the Trafford CSNRT for MDT input. This includes individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions, including stroke and acquired brain injury.

To support the CSNRT MDT in working with these client groups.

To monitor outcomes with clients.

To support research, audit and service evaluations within Trafford CSNRT.

To provide training to other members of the MDT.

You will join one of the largest Neuropsychology teams in the country. We are a group of highly committed and supportive clinicians who work across inpatient, outpatient and community settings.

The person will benefit from the supervision structure and peer support of the department and the additional CPD opportunities afforded here.

We are looking for a proactive and creative individual who has a keen interest in clinical work and in developing evidence based, inclusive clinical neuropsychology services.
