Summary

We are looking for a Pathway Navigator with previous administration experience to join our administration team within the Department of Respiratory Medicine.

You will provide a comprehensive administration service for multi-disciplinary teams whilst ensuring acceptable standards of quality and efficiency are maintained at all times.

Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to deliver this role effectively.

Attention to detail is essential. You must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software with the ability to pick up computer processes/systems quickly. Ideally you will have experience managing and coordinating waiting lists along with a good knowledge of NHS waiting time targets. A flexible approach is essential as is your ability to become a key contributor to the wider admin team whilst using your initiative and adapting well to change.

Our aim is to continually improve patient services and as such having robust administrative support under the guidance of an enthusiastic team leader with a professional approach is essential.

To ensure provision of a comprehensive, high quality and efficient administrative and secretarial service to the Respiratory consultants, ACP, Specialist nurses.

To manage own day to day workload, ensuring that priorities are identified and dealt with and that problems are resolved as quickly as possible.

To work as part of a team ensuring that adequate arrangements for cover are in place for own planned absence and there is full participation in cover for colleagues during planned absence, sickness or workload pressures.

To act as point of contact in dealing with complex telephone calls and enquiries promptly and efficiently, referring on as necessary.

To arrange meetings and appointments as required by the consultants ensuring these are entered onto their electronic diary.

Administration of duties in relation to new policies.

Data entry and retrieval from databases/core clinical systems.

To undertake typing/proof reading of all patient letters and reports.

To develop and promote good working practice, ensuring standard protocols are in place.

Takes minutes and arrange meetings where required.

Provide induction support to new starters.

To undertake and cover any other clerical / secretarial duties as and when required to maintain the administration service to the department.
