We currently have an exciting opportunity to join SSEN as a GIS analyst across large capital projects supporting in the "Pathway to 2030" and delivering our NetZero goals.

As a GIS Analyst, some of your key accountabilities in this position will include:

- The creation and maintenance of robust and large GIS datasets, ensuring this is relevant, up to date, cleansed, and meets SSEN integrity and quality standards, including appropriate metadata.

- Provision of first-class GIS and cartographic support, including preparation of maps, plans, the update and creation of ArcGIS Online Web Apps, 3D visualisation and mobile mapping techniques.

- Support the delivery of individual tasks and wider business processes through identification and design of innovative and technically complex GIS solutions, applications, and workflows.

- Deliver training and technical support to colleagues across the business who use GIS, supporting in its growth and development.

- Facilitate the integration of GIS with other technologies, and support in the sharing of information and data to develop and protect internal and external stakeholder relationships.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- GIS-related degree or equivalent experience with knowledge of GIS programming/scripting languages (e.g. Python, SQL, Arcade).

- Expertise in ESRI's ArcGIS suite, including 3D and Spatial Analyst extensions, ESRI Enterprise portal and ArcGIS Online Web GIS.

- Familiarisation with a diverse range of data types including Terrestrial and Marine data.

- Substantial and deep knowledge of the use and potential of GIS based systems, coupled with a deep understanding of the core principles of GIS and data management.

- Understanding of Major Projects Governance Framework, ethos, gates, and requirements within energy networks or similar.
