Summary


The range of assigned tasks will be carried out with the highest standard and in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct to support and enable registered nursing staff to provide patient care, which reflects the quality standards and mission of the Health Board.

Support the delivery of a comprehensive nursing service including Palliative Care. To contribute to the provision of health care to the people of the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board catchment area by assessing, planning and implementing care for a defined group of
patients. To provide advice and record details of all necessary interactions. To ensure safe clinically effective care and nursing procedures are carried out and to provide clinical supervision and mentorship to other staff members and pre-registration students.

The post holder is responsible for the delivery of basic nursing services to the population.

Supervised and supported by the multi-disciplinary team within the ward.
They will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required.

The role will involve flexible working and travelling as appropriate to the needs of the service in consultation with the post holder and in accordance with Local Service Agreements.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply

We are a very busy unit providing both elective and emergency care during the day and also provide an out of hour’s emergency on-call service of which you would participate in following competencies and a consolidation period.

This is an exciting time for Endoscopy services within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, with an additional theatre at The Grange University Hospital near Cwmbran, which opened in 2020 and additional four planned theatres here at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport.
