Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to apply for the Head of Capacity and Flow at Sherwood Forest Hospitals. This post has 2 key roles.
To provide high quality line management and professional leadership for the Duty Nurse Manager team.
To facilitate the effective management of patient flow through the hospital, optimising patient experience and safety, while ensuring clinical risk factors remain low.
We are now looking for an experienced Nurse manager, who likes a challenge and feels ready to take on this pivotal role within the trust.
• Plan, organise, support, and enact actions across the Trust and Divisions to manage the flow of patients through the hospital, supporting the delivery of national emergency and planned care standards.
• Support the Emergency Planning response across the Trust and System.
• Manage and lead the Duty Nurse and Flow Team.
• Respond to site management issues and ensure the Organisational command structure provides a contact out of hours for all issues.
• Ensure robust communication throughout the hospital.
• Support the Associate Director of Operations – Urgent and Emergency Care with associated duties.
• Deputise for the Associate Director of Operations – Urgent and Emergency Care at agreed internal and external meetings.
• Manage the operational aspects of the flow room, lead capacity meetings ensuring actions are clear and reviewed for delivery.
• Management and development of contracts with external partners.
• To carry out all duties commensurate with the level of the post.
• Produce the Weekend Plan in collaboration with divisional leadership teams & first line query of any gaps or inconsistencies.
• Work collaboratively with Divisional Heads of Nursing to improve patient flow.
