Sister/Charge Nurse

30 hours per - Fixed Term 12 months

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust currently provides both community and hospital based services and is developing new models of care.

The Endoscopy Unit within the NHS Foundation Trust is JAG accredited. The service incorporates a 3 room Endoscopy unit delivering both diagnostic and therapeutic intervention to all patients.

The primary focus of this role is to provide an effective and high-quality service in relation to the specified clinical procedures within the Endoscopy Unit. The post holder will need to be motivated and able to work as part of a well-established team and be an excellent communicator with the ability to support the team in the day to day operation of the services they provide.



We are looking for candidates who have an interest in and have Band 5/6 experience in Endoscopy nursing to work alongside our dedicated Endoscopy team, in supporting and leading junior staff on the unit to deliver high standards of quality patient care.

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate the skills to drive improvement in patient experience, clinical effectiveness and patient safety. The successful applicant should have a good knowledge base and understanding of JAG accreditation and the JETS training System.

To assist the consultants to deliver direct/indirect quality clinical care to patients undergoing procedures within the specialty of Endoscopy. To lead the time and provide assurance and guidance on a daily basis.

Assessment, delivery and recording of direct and indirect care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopyprocedures and to delegated to registered nurse/and other team members when fit to do so.

Contribute to care of patients in transition from one care setting to another. Work within defined limits and competence whilst using own initiative with remote supervision by the Unit manager or matron.

The primary focus of this role is to provide an effective and high quality services in relation to the specified clinical procedures within the Endoscopyservice. This involves undertaking a range of clinical procedures where there is a requirement to have knowledge of the procedure, and due to the nature of the procedure being undertaken, a requirement to have a knowledge of how to deal with related non-routine activities, such as dealing with complications, answering questions, or monitoring progress during/following the procedure and to be able to give other staff assistance and guidance as and when needed.

The post holder will need to be highly organised, able to work without direct supervision, and be an excellent communicator, with the ability to support the team in the day to day operation of the Unit.
