Summary


Barts Health are delighted to offer the opportunity to work within the Children’s Division of the Royal London Hospital as Matron for Specialist paediatrics. Working within our World Class Children’s hospital, you will be responsible for the leadership and development of our Specialist Children’s areas, including our Specialist Medical wards (specialist medical and gastro wards) and outpatients.

The postholder will be responsible for:

• Providing professional and clinical leadership within Children and Young People’s Services at RLH, specifically 7E &7F.

• Translating the organisation’s vision and values into meaningful actions for teams

• Managing teams within Children’s and Young People’s Services and holding the teams to account for the delivery of compassionate, high quality care. This includesensuring that all patients have an up to date, evidence based care plan, including safeguarding and that is being actively implemented.

• Managing teams within a highly complex environment taking in to account the ethnically diverse nature of staff and patients

• Ensuring that patients, their families, and carers are fully involved in assessment of the quality of care delivered and in service redesign

• Monitoring and measuring the quality of care provided and taking the necessary steps to improve care when issues are identified

• Identifying areas for service improvement and implementing improvement initiatives using evidence-based methodologies

• Ensuring that all staff members have up to date appraisals and development plans thus facilitating all staff to reach their full potential
