Summary


We require an enthusiastic person to provide clinical support to the multi-disciplinary Paediatric Audiology team atHackney Ark and Royal London Hospital, with flexibility to travel to all Barts Health NHS Trust sites.

The post holder will be required to work efficiently and effectively, liaising with patients, carers, clinicians and other service users as required. Candidates will be expected to undertake a range of clinical duties including paediatric audiology assessment and habilitation.

The ideal candidate must enjoy working in a busy environment; the applicant will preferably have experience working in a paediatric audiology department. You must be flexible and a team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Experience in using Microsoft office software, IT literate and numerate is essential. Ideally the candidate will be experienced in using Auditbase.

In view of the nature of the service, it is essential you are able to deal calmly with children, young people and families who may at times be feeling anxious or distressed.

Although you will be mainly based at the Hackney Ark Health Centre and The Royal London Hospital, you may be asked to provide cover at other local sites within the wider Audiology service.

To perform behavioural as well as specialist diagnostic audiological procedures, and provide a comprehensive specialist hearing aid service to children, including determining care plans for individual patients, and involving carers and families as appropriate.

To support the day-to-day management of the joint Tower Hamlets and City and Hackney Paediatric service.

To participate in areas of clinical audit, research and clinical governance for the Audiology service, which may include designing and completing auditswithin own field, participating in data collection for larger projects, and contributing to the development of evidence based protocols.

To plan and prioritise elements of own workload, within the framework of service delivery priorities as defined by the Clinical Lead and Head of Service, and supervise the work of other members of the team as appropriate, including junior audiologists, trainees and students.
