We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a part time Band 3 Administrator for the District Nursing Out of Hours and Overnight Team.

You will provide a comprehensive support service to the District Nursing Out of Hours and Overnight Team which is an integral part of the Adult Community Services Division with the Integrated Care Directorate. You will be responsible for the processing of new referrals and discharging patients via the relevant trust systems. You will be responsible for managing the relevant team Microsoft Outlook inboxes and relaying messages to the clinical co-ordinators in a timely manner.

The working hours and pattern for this role are 16:30-00:00

Week One: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday

Week Two: Thursday, Friday
• To provide a customer friendly, responsive service at all times ensuring all contacts are dealt with confidentially and sensitively
• To use a range of communication skills to develop excellent working relationships with staff in the team and other users of the service.
• Responsible for provision of courteous and effective communication service to referrers, all staff groups, patients, relatives, visitors GP’s and external agencies.
• Receive and respond to a range of enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner
• To alert the clinicians promptly to urgent referrals and other patient information and to understand and implement escalation processes should they be required
• To deal with patient enquiries with tact and diplomacy
• To prioritise and action incoming and outgoing mail, including email, with the timely dissemination of information as required.
• To be able to collect all relevant information from a referrer so that the call can be processed as quickly as possible to the right clinician.
• To demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively using alternative methods when required in order to prevent barriers between staff and patients.
