Summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Manager to work across both of our facilities in Severn Beach and Newbury.

This purpose of this role is to be responsible for overseeing the safe completion of all site activities on both sites. enforcing policies, assessing risks, and promoting a culture of safety. Creating a safe work environment and minimising hazards to protect employees, contractors and visitors from occupational risks.

Main responsibilities:
• Multi-site responsibility, promoting a ‘One Business’ culture across both sites.
• Ensure compliance to health and safety regulations and company policies and procedures by all employees of the business; providing the necessary training.
• Promote health and safety culture through interaction with employees, training, and information (eg toolbox talks).
• Manage risk assessments and site inspection programmes. Identifying potential hazards and determining ways of reducing risks.
• Manage method statements and safe systems of work programmes.
• Keep up to date the safe operational practices ensuring adherence to any changes in legislation.
• Ensure all First Aider and Fire Marshall responsibilities are carried out.
• Recording and investigating incidents, accidents and near misses. Initiating corrective actions and compiling reports.
• Investigate any health and safety issues raised.
• Produce reports for health and safety statistics, KPI’s and trends in order to communicate to SLT and all employees on health and safety issues and changes to regulations.
• Recording and trending near miss and accident data for pro-active intervention.
• Attend training courses as required.
• Health safety and environmental management responsibilities for the Control of Contractors.
• Constructing and helping deliver in-house health and safety training program.
• Manage internal Health and Safety audit schedule.
• Chairing health and safety monthly and quarterly meetings
• Working with business appointed experts to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
• Compile horizon scanning of H&S threats and issues for presentation to the senior team.
