To be trained to do the same post as a Nursery Practitioner.

What The Mulberry Bush provides for you:
· Hourly rate of £6.75 per hour
· 5.6 weeks Annual Leave as standard
· An Additional day of Annual Leave at 3 and 4 years of service
· Five days of Annual Leave given on your 5th year of service to use as and when in addition to the above
· Additional pay for Long Term service recognition at 3 and 5 years of working with the company (Once a qualified practitioner).

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
-To work and build good relationships with the children.
- To attend training.
- To complete all assignments set.
- To work well independently.
- To work as part of a team.
- To attend associated training.
- To liaise with mentor.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete assignments on time.
- To attend Room and Staff meetings and imputing ideas.
- Under supervision, provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding.
- To assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children.
- To provide adult interaction with children in the nursery.
- To be aware of the nurseries policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to.
- To be aware of who our safeguarding officer, inco and health and safety officer are.
- Ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met and that Food Safety Regulations are complied with.

Team Work
- Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
- To attend ALL out of working hours activities, eg training, monthly staff meetings, parents evenings, etc.
- To input and contribute to ideas regarding implementation of policies and procedures such as Early Years Foundation Stage.

General
- To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, as may be determined by the trainee’s supervisor from time to time.
- Plan appropriately for children using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and The Mulberry Bush curriculum with support from mentor.
- Prepare and supervise activities.
- The trainees duties must at all times be carried out in compliance with the nursery’s Equal opportunity Policy.
- Look upon the children as a “whole” where can your help be most utilised? Be constantly aware of the needs of the children.
- To respect the confidentiality of information received.
- To ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development.
- To be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to uphold its standards at all times.
- To be aware of all fire and evacuation procedures.
- To be aware of sections 7 & 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- To understand that as part of training you will be required to move to other departments in the nursery to gain knowledge and experience of all age ranges.
- To be flexible in hours and duties in order to meet the needs and requirements of the nursery.
- All staff have a duty to safeguard and protect children from harm, neglect and abuse by following the child protection policy and updating their knowledge often. Ensuring they are aware of the Child Protection Officer and liaise with the Child Protection Officer when appropriate.

Health and safety
- Contribute to good standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the nursery.
- Undertake a shared responsibility for health and safety and cleanliness throughout the nursery.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures.
