Summary


We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic Senior Management Accountant (SMA) to join our Finance team . Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, the SMA will be responsible for providing a high quality customer focused management accounting service and supervise one member of the team.

Candidates will have experience gained in working NHS Finance or similar, as well as strong technical and communication skills. The ability to organise a varied workload is essential, as is the ability to problem-solve. An up-to-date knowledge of NHS management accounting & budgeting is required.

This post is based at our City Road site.

Key responsibilities include:-

Ensuring all management accounting duties are fulfilled. This will include the annual budget-setting process, in-year monitoring, forecasting and variance analysis, and timely provision of training, advice and information to budget holders.

Provide financial information, analysis and advice to the Estates Managers & Directors. To meet regularly with budget managers to ensure that any potential financial or performance problems are identified early enough for corrective action to be effective and that robust income, expenditure and cash forecasts are regularly produced. This may include, but is not limited to, benchmarking of services with other organisations or identifying opportunities from the Trust’s PLICS system.

Responsibility for all aspects of budgetary management within the Division, including monitoring of performance and providing advice on corrective action as necessary. To take a lead role in the division in the annual budget setting process.
