Summary


An enthusiastic and dynamic support medical secretary is required to work within the Older Adult Mental Health Services. You will work closely with other OA medical secretaries within the locality. You will report to the Lead Medical Secretary for the OA locality.

This post is for 22.5 hours per week and you will be based at Balladen House, Union Road, Rawtenstall BB4 6SL. However there will be possible travel to support medical secretary’s between locality sites.

You will work alongside other medical secretaries within the Older Adult Mental Health Services. You will be responsible for diary management, arranging appointments, and typing letters, general office duties as well as ensuring the smooth functioning of the service. You will have good inter-personal skills and be able to communicate both with other multi-disciplinary staff and members of the public.

The post holder will provide secretarial support to medical staff within the service, including audio and copy typing and diary management.

Working as part of the medical secretary team, the post holder will support the administration processes for the patient journey into, through and out of services. The post holder will be expected to utilise good communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and external agencies as required.

The post requires excellent organisational skills including medical audio-typing. The post holder will utilise a range of technical skills including word-processing, email and computerised diary systems.

The confidential nature of all work must be understood and safeguarded. The post holder will be expected to cover for absent colleagues as necessary for short periods of time such as annual leave and short-term sickness.
